Met Police FC went home with their tails between their legs as they scored two own goals to give Worthing a 3v2 win in their recent Ryman 1 South clash.

Mega bucks Met (who brought precisely 0 fans in a gate of 291) scored four of the five goals registered today but still lost!

The scoring opened when a filth defender headed past his own keeper from a long Luke Denton throw.

They immediately equalised before their ‘keeper got sent off for racing outside his box and calling the Worthing winger a “fucking cunt” for being fouled.

The pigs played some filthy football at times with late tackles flying in, but even with ten men they took the lead as the second half started.

Worthing, known as the Rebels kept plugging away and equalised when Medi Koroma smashed home a half cleared corner and a minute later the Met were pig sick as they couldn’t deal with another high ball in their box and another Met defender headed the ball past his own keeper to send Worthing fans wild.

It got much better as the substitute filth keeper injured himself by the corner flag, trying to stop the ball going out for a corner. Instead of letting the physio on, Worthing took a quick corner and only desperate defending stopped us making it four, leaving the Met Police with a crocked sub keeper for the last 15 minutes.

Woodside Road, Worthing’s ground echoed with the song “We beat the Hillians, you shoot Brazilians” (our rivals, Burgess Hill are called the Hillians” and as the Rebels fans left Woodside Road, along with chants of “We are top of the league”, “Harry Roberts” was heard as Worthing celebrated beating tax funded plod, with Met Police officials standing outside the Worthing bar (too ashamed to go in), calling the mighty Rebels “a load of fucking cheats” and much more.

If you want to join the fun, the return game is on 17th April at Imber Court, Esher (would be in a fucking toff area!). Come along and enjoy some good quality football (played by us!) and have fun slagging off the filth with a pint and live football!

The Editorial Group of TAL fanzine has been discussing for some time an ambitious project - Let The People Sing - that we intend to launch at the beginning of next season.

Without going into too much detail, it involves rebel folk music with all the best rebel bands involved and a special freebie republican/rebel "Let The People Sing" CD for all who buy the first issue of the fanzine at the start of next season.

The CD will feature tracks that will be specially recorded and exclusive to TAL. To do this properly we estimate that we need to raise £2000. We need your help. At the moment we have a £100 donation towards the project from a Celtic Supporters Club. We also have several pledges of £25 donations from individual members of our Editorial Group.

All funds raised will go into the project. No money will be squandered or go into the pockets of individuals. All records of what we raise will be published on the forum as the donations come in. We are appealing to supporters to consider making a donation towards the LTPS project which seeks to promote the cultural and political identity of our club and its supporters.

We feel that, at this time, a project such as this is sorely needed in the face of the increasing commercialism of the PLC and their ongoing campaign to depoliticise the Celtic support.

It's time that the rebels fought back. Please make a donation to the fund via Paypal to: talfanzine[at]googlemail[dot]com Or by cheque/postal order (payable to CSC) to: TAL BOOKSBM BOX 266LONDONWC1N 3XX

We reproduce below a report of the recent John Reid Protest.

null
I thought the demonstration was excellent. My initial estimation was 150-200 people standing with us at the highest point of the protest. I may have been putting a gloss on estimating the numbers at 200, but at least 150 is certainly a fair number to put on it imho.

The banners were magic - Well done Green Brigade! - and we kept the chants going all the way through from about 6.30-7.15pm.

I stepped out on to the road a couple of times last night to look at the demo at it's most crowded points and there was well over 100 imho and easily nearer to 200 at its highest point. The crowd was about 3/4 deep and spread across a good area. People were joining and leaving throughout the 45 minute period that we stood there.

Anyway, bean counting aside, I thought it was a great show from us. There were good numbers there from TÁL and the GB. Willy Maley - son of the Spanish Civil War veteran, the late James Maley - himself a socialist republican academic and Celtic fan, joined the protest, as did many people that are unknown to either TÁL or the GB, who obviously saw the propaganda on the various Celtic boards. Quinny from Shebeen was there too.

One wee example from last night that I think is worth recounting. There was a couple of women that we got talking to in the pub beforehand who had heard and were impressed by one of our lad's contribution to Jim Traynor's BBC Radio Scotland phone-in on Saturday night. One of them said that when she heard what our man said about Reid, the war and how having someone like him as chair was against Celtic's traditions, it really made her think more deeply about the issue and she decided that we were right. They took the leaflets off us in the pub and then came down to the demo with us. It's just a small example, but for me it was one of the highlights of the night.

JOHN REID IS UNACCEPTABLE!

JOHN REID IS A UNIONIST

JOHN REID IS A MURDERER!

GET REID, GET REID, GET REID OUT NOW!

That was going round in my head all through the feckin game!

Celtic supporters and other well wishers can download the 'Rebel Against Reid' flyers here and poster downloads here

The next protest will be 27th October, London Road, 2pm-2.45pm before Celtic v Motherwell.
